Terms & Conditions

Public Courses

CUPE Ltd, hold ‘Public’ courses at various locations.  For each course we will use a suitable venue and provide an APM Group approved Trainer with APM Group approved course materials. Pre-course reading materials will be supplied to delegates prior to the event. Class sizes will be limited to a maximum of 12 delegates.

Public Course­ Charges

From the date of acknowledgement by CUPE Ltd, the cancellation charges are :-

More than 28 days prior to the course start date:-          No Charge.
14-28 days prior to the course start date:-                      50% of the course cost.
7-14 days prior to the course start date:-                       100% of the course cost.
Within 7 days of the course start date:-                          100% of the course cost.

More than 28 days prior to the course start date:-         No Charge.
14-28 days prior to the course start date:-                     20% of the course cost.
7-14 days prior to the course start date:-                       50% of the course cost.
Within 7 days of the course start date:-                          100% of the course cost.

Trainer Approved Deferrals:
Trainer approved deferrals are free of charge for any training/ examinations postponed following advice from the Trainer. Deferrals are to be taken within a maximum of 3 months from the original course date, unless otherwise agreed. Any additional venue costs will be invoiced directly at cost.

Practitioner Exams­ Prerequisites:
Proceeding to Practitioner will only be permitted if delegates have satisfactorily attended and completed the full Foundation course and passed the Foundation exam. Refunds are not provided if delegates do not continue to Practitioner and further charges may be incurred if additional training is required.

Distance Learning and E-Learning

All paper based distance learning online purchases may be returned within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, less any postage charges incurred.  Returned products must be in the exact condition as when originally dispatched.  No other refunds on this product are available.

All distance learning and e-learning products are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Following this 12 month period, a renewed/ replacement product may be purchased with a 50% reduction of the published price. After the 12 month validity period, exams can be purchased at 100% of the published price.

Extensions to the expiry date of distance learning and e-learning products can be arranged upon request and will incur the following additional fees;

Extension by one week: £25 plus VAT

Extension by one month: £75 plus VAT

Exams taken at a CUPE/ APM Group Exam Centre or British Council Office must be booked a minimum of 10 working days in advance of the required exam day. All bookings are subject to availability. An additional fee of £50 plus UK VAT is payable for exams at a British Council Office. Online exams must be booked a minimum of 5 working days in advance of the required exam date. Please see EXAMS for more details regarding the terms and conditions relating to exams.

Delegates are responsible for purchasing any new/ revised materials that may be required as a result of changes implemented by the APM Group.  Please refer to the APM Group Site for updated information on any impending changes which may affect your course.  By activating the software or logging onto the e-learning programme, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of our Product License Agreement.

Blended Learning Products

Blended learning products follow the distance learning/ e-learning terms and conditions for Foundation level and Public Course terms & conditions apply to the Practitioner level training.

Exam Plus

No refunds are applicable for this product.

All training provided with the exam plus products, including e-learning, has 7 day validity from the date of purchase. Exams must be booked and taken within 30 days of the purchase date.

Extra time is available for exams taken in English for those who do not have English as native language and who do not use English on a daily basis in their work environment. It is the delegates' responsibility to inform us when this is the case.

Extensions are not permitted for this product. Following the validity period renewed/ replacement products can be purchased at 100% of the published price.

Any changes to exam dates must be made within the relevant validity period applicable to the product purchased. Changes to booked exam dates will incur an administration fee. Details of this fee are included below under the relevant exam type (online or at an exam centre)

A fee of £50 plus VAT will be applied to delegates wishing to change their exam option from sitting it online to sitting it at an exam centre and vice versa.


Online Exams

Any changes to exam dates must be made within the relevant validity period applicable to the product purchased. An extension to the deadline for sitting the exam online can be actioned upon request but will incur the folowing charges;

Deadline extended by one week: £25 plus VAT

Deadline extended by one month: £75 plus VAT

A maximum of three changes are permitted. If further changes are required, or the relevant validity period exceeded, a new exam fee will be payable at 100% of the published price.

If using the Proctor Now service, it is mandatory that you read and adhere to the information detailed within APM Group’s Candidate Guidance, User Guidance and Terms and Conditions. By booking an online exam it is understood that you agree to the Terms and Conditions relating to this service. Appeals for any exams results which are revoked by APM Group will not be processed by CUPE Ltd if the exam rules have been breached.

For the duration of the exam, footage, including sound, will be recorded by the webcam/ microphone. This footage will be reviewed by APM Group post-exam to ensure the exam rules have been adhered to. Failure to comply with the exam rules may lead to the exam result being voided. The exam rules stipulate that:

If using the ProctorU service it is mandatory to visit their website to check both the technical requirements and terms and conditions. Please visit to test your equipment  before logging in. Please note failure to comply with the Terms and Conditions imposed by ProctorU will result in your exam being void and your result being revoked. You will be required to book a specific exam date and time as your exam will be invigilated. A web camera and microphone is needed to enable the invigilators to watch and listen to you  while you are taking your exam. Please check the Technical Requirements page to ensure your computer, web cam and microphone meet these requirements. Once you have received your log in details from CUPE you must go onto the ProctorU website to create an account and schedule your exam, making sure the email address and telephone number you provide are correct. When you are ready to start your exam please go to and click on the "Go" button to start the process. Please make sure you take your exam in a well-lit and private room. You must be alone in the room for the duration of the exam. If overhead lighting is not possible, please make sure that your light source is not directly behind you because it will make it difficult for the invigilator to see you. Please have your photo ID ready. Please have a reflective surface such as a CD, DVD or mirror so that you can show the edges of your monitor to the invigilator. Please make sure you close all programs, applications, and websites that do not pertain to the exam.

Exams at a CUPE / APM Group Exam Centre / APM Centre or British Council Office

All exam bookings must be made a minimum of 10 days prior to the required exam date and are subject to availability.

Cancellations to exam dates will be subject to the following additional fees;

Changes to exam dates will be subject to the following additional fees;

The following terms and conditions must be adhered to for all exams; failure to do so could result in the exam result being revoked and a new exam fee payable. 

Promotional Vouchers

Promotion Vouchers can only be claimed for introducing a friend or a colleague directly to CUPE Ltd which results in the purchase of either a Public Course or a Supported Distance Learning/ e-learning Package at the full retail price.  These vouchers are not offered on any discounted or special offer courses, exam plus bookings or bookings made through a 3rd party supplier/ broker.
• £50 High Street Vouchers will be given for Public Course Place bookings.
• £25 High Street Vouchers will be given for Distance Learning / e-learning bookings.
Vouchers will be sent once the full payment has been received and the course completed.

In-House Courses

Where Delegates are required to be trained on-site, the Client may organise his/her own event using the venue of their choice.  The venue should be equipped with tables and chairs which are arranged ‘u-shaped’ for training and ‘classroom-style’ for the examinations.  The room should be equipped with an A1 flip-chart or white-board. Refreshments (water/tea/coffee) and washroom facilities should be available nearby.

Cancellation and Course Transfer Charges

Cancellation or Course Transfer Requests must be made, either in writing or by e-mail to the CUPE Course Administrator. From the date of acknowledgement by CUPE Ltd, the cancellation and transfer charges are: -
More than 6 weeks’ notice prior to the course start date:-          Any expenses incurred at cost
4-6 weeks’ prior to the course start date:-                                  50% of the course cost
Within 4 weeks’ of the course start date:-                                  100% of the full course cost
The cost of all course materials supplied will be charged.  Ownership of materials supplied will pass to the Client following payment of charges.


All certificates are issued as e-certificates. Paper copies can be purchased from the Exam Institute (APMG), if required, for an additional fee of £25 + UK VAT.


Copyright and all intellectual property rights for all Course Materials shall remain the property of CUPE Ltd. The Customer agrees not to reproduce, sell, hire or copy Course Materials (in whole or in part) and not to use such materials except for the purposes of post course reference.

Personal Belongings

Personal belongings and items belonging to or in the possession of the Customer or Delegate brought on to CUPE Ltd training courses/ exam sessions are the sole responsibility of the owner. CUPE Ltd accepts no responsibility for any theft or damage to personal belongings at training courses or exam sessions.


All VAT chargeable purchases will be charged using the current UK VAT rate of 20% for all services carried out in the UK and for all products where VAT is applicable.
