Once you have identified your method for delivery and governance arrangements you will need to ensure that these are adhered to. As a Board member you will not want the audit team to ask questions that cannot be answered satisfactorily. There are different ways of achieving this and they include the Board undertaking the assurance themselves so that they are satisfied that the processes and procedures are being followed with any tailoring being appropriate to the initiative being delivered.
If the Board members do not have the time or perhaps the in depth skills some assistance will be needed. This assistance can come from within the organisation such as being provided by a PMO or individuals within the organisation who have the skills.
External assurance can help to provide independent verification that the initiative is being delivered according to plan, using the organisation’s methods and that variances or changes are managed appropriately. Independent assurance is of particular value where the initiative is cross functional or cross organisational, complex or if it may be subject to a legal challenge.
Using CUPE Consultants who have the experience and knowledge base to add more value to the initiative than simply identification of the level of compliance will enable the organisation to have belief that delivery confidence will be enhanced by CUPE and so improve the outcomes and benefits.
