The Earned Value Management tutorial is a useful tool for calculating how exactly you are spending your budget and how far you have gone with your project. It offers you an easy way of finding out if your project is on the right track, and whether you are spending your money right, or you are wasting it instead.

This is an Earned Value example that can serve as a tutorial:

For a project, the Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled is calculated by adding the Project Labour Costs and the Project Resource Costs. Then, by dividing the Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled by the Percentage of Work Completed, you can find out the Earned Value and by dividing the Actual Cost of Work Scheduled by the Earned Value, you will find out the Cost Performance Index.
